Website Updates & WordPress Access: What Are My Options?

Website Updates & Access Guide I Want to Update My Website — What Are My Options? If you would like changes made to your WordPress website, there are a few different ways we can handle this. The quickest and safest option for most clients is to request the changes through our visual website revision tool, rather than needing full backend access. Important: We do not normally grant full WordPress admin access unless it is genuinely necessary. This is not to block you from your own website — it is to protect the site and keep responsibility clear. If multiple people make backend changes, it can become difficult to know who is responsible if something breaks. Our Recommended Option: Request Changes Visually For most website updates, the safest and fastest way to work is for us to activate a visual revision tool on your website. This allows you to click on the exact part of the website you want changed, leave a comment, and upload any images, videos, wording, or files needed for the update. 📍 Comment Exactly Where Needed Click on the part of the page you want changed and leave your instructions in context. 📎 Upload Files in the Right Place Add images, videos, documents, screenshots or wording directly to the relevant task. ✅ Tasks Go Straight to Our Team Each request is turned into a task so our team can review it, quote it if needed, and complete the update properly. Example: you can comment directly on the part of the website you want changed, upload files, and create clear tasks for our team. How Website Update Requests Are Charged Managed Hosting Only If your package includes managed hosting but does not include support time, we will review the requested changes and send you a quote based on the time required. Quoted first Managed Hosting + Support Time If your package includes website support time, eligible updates will be handled within your included support time. If the request is outside your available support time or outside the scope of your support package, we will quote before carrying out the work. Included where covered No surprise invoices: We do not simply start the clock and send an invoice afterwards. If work needs to be charged separately, we quote in advance and wait for approval before completing the work. Why This Is Our Preferred Way of Working It Is Faster You can show us exactly what needs changing, on the exact part of the page, without needing long email threads or unclear screenshots. It Reduces Mistakes Because the comment is attached to the exact part of the website, there is less chance of misunderstanding what you want updated. It Keeps the Website Safer Our team makes the changes using the correct tools, backups, processes and checks, which reduces the risk of accidental damage. It Keeps Responsibility Clear If only our team is making technical changes, it is much clearer who is responsible for the website and any fixes that may be needed. What If You Still Need Backend Access? There are situations where backend access may be appropriate, but we recommend using the lowest level of access needed for the job. This is known as giving the right access for the task, rather than giving full admin access by default. Please note: If you or another third party make changes in the backend, responsibility for fixes may change. If something breaks after non-FATGURU changes are made, investigation and repair work may be chargeable. Access Level What It Usually Allows Best For Risk Level Visual Revision Tool Request changes by clicking on the website, adding comments, and uploading files. Most content, image, wording and layout update requests. Lowest Subscriber Basic login access. Usually only allows the user to manage their own profile. Rarely needed for normal client website updates. Very low Contributor Can usually write and edit their own draft posts, but cannot publish them. Draft blog content that our team reviews before publishing. Low Author Can usually create, edit and publish their own posts, and upload media. Clients who regularly publish their own blog posts or news updates. Medium Editor Can usually edit and publish pages and posts, including content created by others. Clients who need regular content control but do not need technical site settings. Medium to high Shop Manager For ecommerce websites, this can usually manage products, orders, coupons and store information. Clients managing products and orders on a WooCommerce website. Medium to high Administrator Full website control, including users, plugins, themes, settings, updates and technical areas. Only where absolutely necessary and agreed in advance. Highest Why We Avoid Giving Full Administrator Access by Default WordPress administrator access gives full control of the website. This can include installing or deleting plugins, changing themes, editing users, altering settings, changing SEO tools, editing forms, changing tracking scripts, and making updates that affect the whole site. Full Admin Access Can Affect Website layout and design. Forms, enquiries and email delivery. SEO settings and search visibility. Tracking, analytics and advertising conversion tracking. Plugin, theme and WordPress updates. Website speed, security and stability. Customer, order or enquiry data where applicable. Who is responsible if the website breaks or behaves unexpectedly. We are not trying to stop you accessing your website. We are trying to make sure the right person has the right level of access for the right reason, so your site stays secure and responsibility remains clear. Which Option Should You Choose? I Want Some Text, Images, Videos or Layouts Changed Use the visual revision tool. This is the best option for most website update requests. Recommended I Want to Send Blog Drafts or News Updates Ask us whether Contributor, Author or Editor access is appropriate, depending on whether you need to draft, upload or publish content yourself. Limited access I Need to Manage Products or Orders If your site has ecommerce functionality, Shop Manager access may be suitable. Ecommerce I Need Full Technical Control Administrator access may be considered where

How to Add a Google Ads Manager Account to Your Existing Account

Google Ads Access Guide How to Add Our Google Ads Manager Account to Your Existing Google Ads Account This guide explains how to give us secure access to your existing Google Ads account using a Google Ads Manager Account, also known as an MCC. This is the correct way for an agency or marketing partner to manage your Google Ads account without needing your Google password. Our Google Ads Manager Account / MCC ID: 911-612-1574 Important: You do not need to share your Google login details with us. We will send a manager account link request, and you simply approve it inside your own Google Ads account. What Is a Google Ads Manager Account? A Google Ads Manager Account, often called an MCC, allows an agency to securely manage a client’s Google Ads account from a central dashboard. Your Google Ads account remains yours, your billing remains yours, and you can remove manager access later if required. 🔐 No Password Sharing You keep control of your own Google account. We do not need your Google password. 📊 Secure Account Management We can help manage campaigns, budgets, tracking, keywords, ads, conversions, and reporting from our manager account. ✅ You Stay in Control Your account stays separate, your data remains in your account, and access can be removed in future if needed. Before You Start You must be logged in with an email address that has Admin access to your Google Ads account. If you only have Standard, Read-only, Billing, or Email-only access, you may not be able to approve the request. If you are not sure whether you have Admin access, log in to Google Ads and go to Admin > Access and security. Your access level should be shown next to your user email. Step 1: Find Your Google Ads Account Number / Customer ID Before we can send the manager account link request, we need your Google Ads account number, which Google calls your Customer ID. This is the 10-digit number shown inside your Google Ads account, usually near the top-right of the screen. Log in to Google Ads Go to ads.google.com and sign in using the Google account that has access to your Google Ads account. Find Your Account Number / Customer ID Look near the top-right area of the Google Ads screen for a 10-digit number with hyphens. Google calls this your Customer ID, but you may also think of it as your Google Ads account number. Example Customer ID: 123-456-7890 ads.google.com Google Ads Campaigns Goals Tools Billing Admin Campaigns Example Google Ads account dashboard Customer ID 123-456-7890 This is the account number / Customer ID to send to us Mock screenshot: your Google Ads Customer ID is usually shown near the top-right of your account. Send the Customer ID to Us Send us your Customer ID so we can request access from our Google Ads Manager Account. Our Google Ads Manager Account / MCC ID: 911-612-1574 Please send your Customer ID, not your password. We only need the account number so we can send the official Google Ads manager link request. Step 2: We Send the Manager Account Link Request Once we have your Google Ads Customer ID, we will send a link request from our Google Ads Manager Account. The request will come from MCC / Manager Account: 911-612-1574 You may receive an email from Google about the request, but you can also approve it directly inside your Google Ads account using the steps below. Step 3: Accept the Google Ads Manager Link Request Once we have sent the request, you can approve it inside your own Google Ads account. Log in to Your Google Ads Account Go to ads.google.com and make sure you are inside the correct Google Ads account. Tip: If you manage more than one Google Ads account, check the account name and Customer ID before continuing. Open the Admin Menu In the left-hand navigation, look for the Admin icon or Admin section. Let Us Know It Has Been Accepted Once accepted, please let us know. We should then be able to access the account from our Google Ads Manager Account and begin checking or managing the campaigns. What If There Is No Link Request Showing? If no request is showing, do not worry. This usually means we have not sent the Google Ads Manager Account link request yet, the request was sent to a different account, or we may not have your correct Google Ads Customer ID. For this MCC access method, you do not usually add our MCC number directly from your own Google Ads account first. We need to send the manager account link request from our Google Ads Manager Account. Once we have sent it, you can approve it inside your Google Ads account. Check You Are in the Correct Google Ads Account If you have access to more than one Google Ads account, check the account name and Customer ID at the

How to Complete Google Business Profile Video Verification

Google Business Profile Help How to Complete Google Business Profile Video Verification for a Physical Business Google Business Profile video verification is used to prove that your business is real, located where you say it is, and that you are authorised to manage it. This guide is for businesses with a physical location, such as a shop, salon, clinic, office, showroom, restaurant, café, pub, workshop, gym, or other customer-facing premises. Important: Google Business Profile used to be called Google My Business, or GMB. If you have been asked to complete “GMB video verification”, it usually means Google Business Profile video verification. Before You Record the Verification Video 📱 Use Your Mobile The video must be recorded and uploaded from a mobile device through your Google Business Profile. You cannot pre-record a video and upload it later. 🎥 One Continuous Video The video must be one complete recording with no pauses, cuts, edits, or separate clips joined together. ⏱️ At Least 30 Seconds Your video must be at least 30 seconds long. In most cases, a clear 60–90 second video is enough if it shows everything properly. Do not show sensitive information. Avoid showing bank details, tax numbers, ID documents, private customer information, passwords, private screens, or other people’s faces. What Google Needs to See For a physical business, your video should clearly prove three things: 📍 1. The Location Show that your business is genuinely at the address listed on Google. Include the street, building number, nearby businesses, recognisable surroundings, or landmarks. 🏪 2. The Business Exists Show your storefront, entrance, showroom, reception, customer area, or business signage. Your business name should be clearly visible. 🔑 3. You Manage It Show proof that you have access to the business, such as unlocking the door, opening a staff-only area, using the till, accessing a stockroom, or showing business equipment. Step-by-Step Video Verification Instructions Start Outside the Business Begin recording outside the premises. Do not start the video inside the building. Google needs to see the outside location first. Show the street or road. Show the building number if there is one. Show nearby shops, businesses, signs, or landmarks. Make it obvious that you are at the correct address. Show the Permanent Business Signage Clearly show your business name on permanent signage. The name on the sign should match the name on your Google Business Profile. Show the sign on the shopfront, wall, window, door, signboard, or other permanent fixture. Make sure the sign is readable in the video. Avoid relying on temporary paper signs, posters, or anything that looks recently placed just for the video. Show Yourself Unlocking the Property Before walking inside, clearly show yourself unlocking the business premises with your key, fob, keypad, or access method. Keep the video recording while you unlock the entrance. Make it clear that you are gaining access to the business. This helps prove that you are authorised to manage or represent the business. Walk Inside While Still Recording Keep recording as you walk from outside into the premises. This helps connect the outside location, signage, entrance, and interior together in one continuous video. Show the Customer-Facing Area Once inside, show the part of the business customers would normally see. Reception area Shop floor Waiting area Showroom Treatment room Restaurant, café, pub, or bar area Gym, studio, clinic, office, or workspace Show Proof That You Manage the Business Google needs to see something that only the owner, manager, or authorised staff member would normally be able to access. Open the till or cash register. Show the point-of-sale system. Open a stockroom or storage room. Access a staff-only area. Show the kitchen, workshop, treatment room, or business-only area. Show branded equipment, tools, products, or work materials. Show a booking system or business dashboard, but avoid showing private customer details. Review and Upload Once you have shown the location, signage, unlocked the premises, entered the business, and shown proof of management, stop the recording and review it before uploading. Suggested Video Order Start outside the business. Show the street, building number, nearby businesses, or recognisable surroundings. Show the permanent business signage clearly. Show yourself unlocking the business with your key, fob, keypad, or access method. Walk into the premises while still recording. Show the customer-facing area. Show proof that you manage the business, such as the till, stockroom, staff-only area, POS system, business equipment, or work area. Stop the recording once everything has been shown. Simple Script You Can Say During the Video “This is the outside of our business at [business address]. Here is the surrounding area and nearby businesses. This is our business sign showing [business name]. I’m now unlocking the premises and entering the business. This is our customer area. I’m now showing access to [till / stockroom / staff area / POS system / business equipment] to prove that I manage or represent the business.” You do not have to speak in the video, but speaking can make it easier to explain what you are showing. Video Verification Checklist Before uploading your video, make sure it shows: The outside of the business. The street, building number, nearby businesses, or recognisable surroundings. Permanent signage with the business name clearly visible. The business name matching the name on your Google Business Profile. You unlocking the business premises. You walking inside while still recording. The customer-facing area. Proof that you manage or represent the business. No private customer information. No sensitive business or personal information. No other people’s faces. One continuous recording with no cuts or edits. A video length of at least 30 seconds. Common Reasons Google Rejects Verification Videos The business sign is missing, unclear, or does not match the profile name. The signage looks temporary rather than permanent. The video does not show the outside location properly. The video does not show nearby surroundings, street signs, building numbers, or recognisable landmarks. The video starts inside the premises instead of outside. The video does not show the person unlocking or accessing the
